The show must go on at The Morecambe Winter Gardens!
Recently I gathered a selection of my closest fiends with whom I have worked with over the years and hold their craftsmanship in high regard, to join me at the Winter Gardens in Morecambe.
The idea of our meeting was to show our support and to help raise the profile of the cause to resurrect the old theatre into a working building again.
Between us we aim to offer our skills on a voluntary basis to help fix up the building as best we can.

Theatre volunteers have come up with a list of over 30 minor repairs and refurbishment jobs which must be done before the doors can open to am audience of 800 people.
Friends chairman Eve Archer says: This whole campaign started when I approached David Clayton to replace some windows that had been broken by vandals. But when he saw the theatre for the first time he volunteered to help.
David explains: " My grandmother was a singer here in the theatres
heyday and, although I never met her I had seem pictures of this
place. When I saw the state of it now I just felt something ought to
be done - it's a crying shame that it has been allowed to decay like
this." |
